We offer friendly, professional advice on all aspects of family law.
We understand that the breakdown of a relationship can be one of the most stressful events
in your life. Our team of approachable specialist family lawyers will provide you with clear,
jargon free advice, guiding you through all the options available. You can expect your
concerns to be addressed sympathetically and in a practical way that provides reassurance,
support and confidence when needed.
Our family lawyers are members of Resolution,
First for Family Law (formerly the Solicitors’
Family Law Association) and follow a code of
conduct to deal with matters in a conciliatory
and cost effective way.
We believe that a constructive, non-aggressive style works best for most clients. Our aim is
to reduce conflict and encourage parties to explore practical solutions which they can live
with.
If you are using the mediation process we will advise you as an individual on your legal
position to support the mediation process.
We will try to promote co-operation between you and your partner in decisions concerning
your children.
In some cases where all other means of resolution have been exhausted or are inappropriate
court proceedings may be necessary. We will guide you through the process whilst still trying
to reach agreement on favourable terms to you to reduce the costs and acrimony which can
otherwise develop.
How much does a Divorce cost?
There are two court fees payable during the course of divorce proceedings; £340 when the
divorce is started and £45 for the Decree Absolute. Solicitor’s costs can vary enormously
depending on the complexity of your case and whether you are starting the divorce (you are
the petitioner) or you are the respondent.
We offer the service of a fixed fee divorce for £550 plus VAT, plus the court fees. This is for a
straightforward undefended divorce only and does not include advice or work in relation to
the matrimonial finances or children.
Information available on the Internet can be misleading and does not take into account your
personal circumstances. For that reason we offer family clients a half-hour fixed fee initial
consultation for £50 plus VAT. This will give you the opportunity of meeting one of our team
face to face to discuss your situation.
To speak to someone who can help with any family related issue call, email or request a call
back from one of our specialist family lawyers.
